Academic program
TCTD, IITB aims to develop human resources trained in technology, design and entrepreneurship for translating end-to-end innovations and improve access of solutions across society. The Centre enrolls and sponsors Master’s students and PhD scholars every year as Tata Fellows. These Fellows selected through a written test by the Centre are trained to work on socially relevant challenges, and become future leaders in engineering, business, and design and invent technologies and system solutions that serve human needs in resource-constrained communities. TCTD, IITB offers two seminar-based courses, Technology and Design for End-to-End Innovation (MNG 629 and MNG 630) and a lab course on technology and design (CL 724) to help students understand the challenges of designing and implementing technology solutions in the Base of the Pyramid (BoP) segments. The courses are Institute Electives that the Fellows complete, along with their required department coursework.
