Underground mining employs hundreds of mining personnel working at any point of time under extreme conditions. Due to extreme conditions, every year hundreds of miners die during mining accidents. For the safety of the miners and for better co-ordination of tasks, it is essential to deploy good communication system inside mines. In order to enhance rescue operations during mining accidents, the information about the trapped miners and the exact location of the accident is very essential. This information can be obtained by communication between trapped miners and surface control system. But during trapping, through the wire or through air communication are not of much use since the wires would be broken and the path for wave travelling is obstructed by fallen stones. Hence in this project, we are proposing a communication system in which the waves can travel through the earth.
